To begin a new request, click the New Ticket button from the Console screen:
This will take you to the Ticket Details screen as shown below:
- Ticket Type: Select whether the job type is Routine or Emergency.

Type of Work: Which type of work are you undertaking? The options vary slightly depending on the Ticket Types. Below are definitions of the options available:
- Electric: installation or repair of power assets
- Water: installation or repair of water assets
- CATV: installation or repair of cable TV assets
- Telephone: installation or repair of telecommunications assets
- Sewer: installation or repair of sewage assets
- Fencing: work to do with a fence
- Construction: building foundations, decks, masonry, retaining walls
- Trees: planting or removal of a tree/stump grinding
- Groundwork: boring, test pits, drilling, dry monitoring, drainage, contaminated soil
- Roads: repair of or laying down of new roadways/driveways/parking lots/sidewalks
- Irrigation: work to do with irrigation
- Data: work to do with fiber optics/traffic lights
- Poles and Holes: installing mailboxes/poles/signs
- Tanks: work to do with propane/gas tanks
- Conveyancing: design/tendering a job, subdivision, general conveyance
- Other: anything which falls under none of the above categories
- Activity: Select the type of work from the drop down list. These will vary between the different Types of Work.

Excavation Method: Nominate which type of excavation method will be used for the work: Blasting, Drilling, Hand Digging, Horizontal Boring, Mechanical Digging or Vacuum Excavation.
- Blasting: blasting rocks with explosives
- Drilling: drilling vertically into the ground, such as for fencing or post holes
- Hand Digging: digging with manual tools such as shovels
- Horizontal Boring: drilling parallel beneath a road from one side to the other
- Mechanical Digging: digging with machinery such as an excavator or jackhammer
- Vacuum Excavation: removing soil using a vacuum/sucker machine
- Job Start/Job Completion: The time frame the work will take place within. The earliest start date is set two business days ahead to allow time for utilities to respond. If the ticket is an Emergency, select today as the job start date. You will also need to enter in the job's Start Time.
- User Reference: This is an optional field where the you can write a reference/scheme number associated with your project (if applicable).
- Excavator Doing Work: The name of the person/contractor who will be undertaking the excavation (most of the time this should be the person lodging the request). This automatically defaults to your Company name.
- Location of Workplace: Are you working on Private Property, Roadway or Both? If it involves the Road/Both, select whether the Road R.O.W., Shoulder and/or Sidewalk are included.
- Is area pre-marked?: Has the work site been designated by white marking?
Once the Ticket Details have been populated, click Next to proceed to the Location page.
Tips:
- If you would like to finish the inquiry later (e.g. if you need to find some additional information for the job), you can save it at any time. Click here for more information on saving your inquiry.
- If any extra information needs to be added, you can include these in the Remarks section at the bottom of the Location screen.
