Call Before You Dig provides an option for you to Continue a previous ticket, usually for larger jobs where the area needs to be broken down into multiple smaller sections. This is particularly useful for larger areas as you are able to continue each section off the end of the last one without losing your place.
If you need to locate a previous job, you can do this by going to your CBYD Ticket History and locating the old request. From the ticket's Summary screen, click the Continue Ticket button fro the Actions menu:
Note: If you cannot locate the Continue button, this may be because:
- The job was lodged over 30 days ago and has expired. You will need to lodge a new inquiry instead.
- Your account may not have been validated yet, preventing you from continuing the ticket.
On the Location screen the previous map area will appear grayed-out, allowing you to draw a new area with the previous area as a reference:
The continued ticket's Ticket Details will automatically populate to be the same as the previous request. The other fields on this page can be altered if required. After marking out the continued section of map, you will be asked to reconfirm the site address at Step 3 on the Location screen. The confirmation sheet will be sent to whichever email you currently have on your account (regardless of where the original job was sent, if your contact details have changed).
Tip: If you are breaking your site up into several parts, it can be helpful to put something in the User Reference field (e.g. Part 1, Part 2, etc.) to distinguish between the various jobs as they may all have the same address.
